Ian Boulton, the Labour Party Candidate for Filton and Bradley Stoke

Serving the new Filton & Bradley Stoke constituency, including the communities of Almondsbury, Bradley Stoke, Downend, Patchway, Pilning, Severn Beach, Staple Hill, Stoke Gifford, Stoke Park, University of the West of England and Winterbourne.

   Biography

Ian Boulton was selected as the Labour Party Parliamentary Candidate for the new constituency of Filton and Bradley Stoke in August 2007.  Prior to this he was the first Chair of our Constituency Labour Party when it was formed following the 2005 General Election.

His family have lived in the area for generations.  Ian’s father served in the Gloucestershire Police Service and as a child Ian lived in Winterbourne and Patchway.  He now lives in Staple Hill with his partner who is a matron at Southmead and Frenchay Hospitals.

Ian runs a small business which provides training for local organisations.

For the past 9 years Ian has been a Parish Councillor in South Gloucestershire.  He has also been a school governor for the last 11 years. He is currently on the Governing Board of Patchway Community College. 

Ian is the Chair of the Staple Hill Regeneration Partnership.   This group is being used as a model to regenerate communities across South Gloucestershire.
