As part of the Labour Government's Building Schools for the Future programme, the Department for Children, Schools, and Families (DCSF) chose Filton High as a “pathfinder” school – the first in the district to receive funding from the DCSF programme. The development provides a modern, enhanced learning environment for pupils, and includes a range of educational aids, such as interactive whiteboards and laptops for pupils to use, outside areas for lessons and activities, and a science garden.
While Labour has been in power the number of teachers in English schools has increased by more than 30,000.
